The Y shape allows for neck straps to sit lower (away from the windpipe) and the meeting point for the neck and chest straps means that pulling forces are distributed around the chest bone. The chest and neck strap position also ensures freedom of movement around the shoulders.
This Y shaped dog harness is a suitable option for many breeds of dog and for owners who prefer to have a soft, padded area around the neck and chest area. Even though the neck is a fixed size, there is plenty of adjustment on the chest straps to ensure a very good fit. Please remember to measure your dog on the lower part of the neck (as well as the chest) to get the most appropriate size.

Please make sure that you measure your dog around the chest and compare the sizes and then double check it is the correct size by measuring and comparing the neck measurments. Please note the position of the harness around the lower part of the dog's neck. It is advised that you measure around this point.</p>

<p>This y shaped dog harness should fit many dog breeds but please check any chest and neck dimensions in the sizes tab above and match those with your dog's measurements. It is very important that you measure your dog before you order a harness. <br></p>
<h3><strong>Is it easy to take on and off?</strong></h3>
<p>Yes. The neck part simply goes over your dog's head without rubbing any sensitive areas. You can then place your dog's leg through the hole and adjust the chest strap to fit. To remove, simply unclip the buckle bring your dog's leg back through and pull over the head again. </p>
