Customer Focus: Our Story - Dougal 🐾

Some dogs seem to bring a little extra energy and happiness wherever they go — and 17-month-old Dougal certainly sounds like one of them.

For Linda and her family, Dougal is much more than a much-loved family pet. He has helped bring joy back into their home after a heartbreaking loss, and today he is rarely far from an adventure.

Linda has had Dougal since he was just eight weeks old, and he has already packed plenty into his young life. Full of boundless energy, he loves nothing more than chasing his ball, carrying a good stick and, perhaps most importantly, getting out for a swim — whether that's in the sea or a river.

And Dougal is very much a dog who likes to see the world.

He travels with Linda and her family in their campervan on their holidays, with many of their trips taking them to some of the beautiful places in the north of Scotland. For Dougal, every new destination means somewhere else to explore, new smells to investigate and plenty of opportunities for adventure.

One of the photographs Linda shared with us shows Dougal enjoying the stunning scenery on the King’s Balmoral Estate in Scotland — a rather special backdrop for a very special dog.

But behind Dougal's energetic personality is a story that makes his place in the family even more meaningful.

After losing their previous dog to cancer at just eight years old, Linda and her family were left heartbroken. The loss was so painful that they decided they would never have another dog.

But after 14 months, they realised just how much their home — and their hearts — were missing that special four-legged presence.

Then Dougal came along.

Since joining the family, he has helped them begin to heal from their loss and has brought an abundance of affection, companionship and happiness back into their lives.

And it seems Dougal has plenty of love to give.

He is especially close to Linda's four-year-old granddaughter, with the pair described as the very best of friends. Whether they're chasing each other around or settling down for cuddles, their friendship is clearly one of the sweetest parts of Dougal's life.

He's also part of a wider canine family. Linda's daughter has two dogs, Teddy and Belle, who happen to wear the same harnesses as Dougal. From adventures in Scotland to family visits and cuddles at home, Dougal certainly isn't short of friends.

Linda also shared a lovely photograph of Dougal enjoying the view from the campervan window — which feels like the perfect snapshot of his personality: always ready to see where the road might take him next.

At just 17 months old, Dougal has already made a huge impression on his family. From seaside swims and Scottish adventures to afternoons playing with his best human friend, he's filled their lives with the affection and joy they had been missing.

Sometimes, you don't quite realise how much a dog can change your life until they come along.

For Linda and her family, Dougal has done exactly that — one adventure, cuddle and wagging tail at a time.

Thank you, Linda, for sharing Dougal’s lovely story and photos with us. 🐾❤️
